Shrewsbury Town Football Club are gearing themselves up for hosting Sir Rod Stewart on Wednesday 7th June.

The concert, which is presented by Cuffe and Taylor, is one of only two mainline UK shows in 2017 as Sir Rod warms up for his headline slot at the Isle of Wight Festival.

As one of the best-selling artists in the history of recorded music, with more than 200 million records sold worldwide, his performance will include show stopping classics spanning five decades including ‘Maggie May, Da Ya Think I’m Sexy, Baby Jane, The First Cut is the Deepest and I Don’t Want to Talk About it’.

Concert-goers will also be treated to tracks from his most recently released critically acclaimed platinum album ‘Another Country’, which debuted at Number Two.

Sir Rod has recently been playing sold-out shows in Las Vegas and can’t wait to visit Shrewsbury Town next month,

“I am very excited to be performing some of my fantastic songs with the band at Shrewsbury Town Football Club. It's going to be an energetic and colourful show and we will be there!”, said Rod.

There has been lots of work going on behind the scenes at the Greenhous Meadow with preparations well underway.

CEO Brian Caldwell admits it is a busy time, but is looking forward to the occasion.

“There’s a lot of work involved in it and it’s about trying to find the time to do all the work involved”, said Brian.

“Now that the season’s over that is one that I need to try and concentrate on and make sure that everyone knows their function and all the staff are all hands to the pumps to make sure it goes well.

“At the end of the day we want the concert to go well so that the promoters are happy and can bring concerts on a more regular basis. Hopefully, it will all fall into place over the next few weeks.”

Tickets are still available for the concert and can be purchased by visiting http://www.ticketmaster.co.uk/ or calling 0844 844 0444.
