Manager remaining patient in quest for new faces
Patience continues to be the name of the game for Shrewsbury Town manager Graham Turner as he plots to add to his squad.
GT has so far brought in a trio of defenders in Alex McQuade, Tamika Mkandawire and Dave Winfield, but is keen to draft in other recruits ahead of the League One opener at home to MK Dons on August 3.
"It sounds like a record repeating itself but we're in talks with clubs and players at the moment are not making their mind up," said the manager.
"In some of the cases of loan players, the clubs want them to stay with them through the pre-season programme, or haven't made their minds up yet, or the player is maybe waiting for something bigger and better than us.
"It is a waiting game at the moment.
"It would be nice to have the squad complete and all training together but sometimes you have to be patient.
"Occasionally, it can be a big boost that halfway through pe-season another couple of new faces arrive and it just boosts the dessing room again."
GT has been involved in football long enough to remain relaxed about his squad strengthening and stressed there were many talented players still available.
"I'm fairly relaxed about it," he said. "We've obviously missed one or two targets, players that we would have liked to brought here, we've seen disappear to other clubs, mostly bigger clubs, and I can understand the reasons why players have turned us down to go to other clubs they've finished up at.
"But we'll keeping working at it and at the moment there is still a lot of players out there so I'm not unduly worried."
