Morgan and Taylor striving to be fit for Friday

Graham Turner remains hopeful that Jon Taylor and Marvin Morgan will recover from injury in time to be available for Friday night's trip to Tranmere Rovers.

Winger Taylor was forced to come off at half time in Saturday's home defeat against Sheffield United owing to a problem with his groin and hamstring.

Striker Morgan was ruled out of the clash with the Blades with an injured ankle.

But GT hopes both players, who have scored 13 goals between them this season, will be available for selection at Prenton Park.

"Jon Taylor hasn't been ruled out," said the manager. "It was very early in the game on Saturday and he was a big miss.

"Although he wanted to carry on at half time he didn't look right and he had to be substituted. We're hopeful that he's got a chance of being fit for Friday.

"I would be disappointed if Marvin Morgan's not training on Wednesday in preparation for Friday. There's a good chance he'll be fit."

Morgan scored against Tranmere in a 1-1 draw at the Greenhous Meadow in August.
