Loanee hoping to bring Yeovil experience to help Town
Shrewsbury Town's latest loan recruit Sam Foley wants to show the form which made him a promotion winner for Yeovil last season in a Town shirt.
Foley, who went straight into the Shrewsbury side for last weekend's 3-2 defeat against Bristol City, was a regular for Yeovil last season as they went up from League One via the play-offs.
He has found games harder to come by in the Championship this season which is why he's pleased to have been given the chance to impress for Shrewsbury.
“I think I was lucky enough to be in a good side last season," said Foley. “I owe a lot to my team-mates and for the manager liking me last season, but all I can do is try to replicate that form I had last season while I am here.”
Foley, 27, scored more than 30 goals in over 100 games for Newport County before joining Yeovil.
And he admits he would love to chip in with a few goals to help Town improve their position in the League One table.
He said: “I back myself to score a few. I like to get forward and play in an advanced midfielder role.
“The manager has brought me in to score some goals so hopefully I can help with that.”
