Tam visits as part of Kick Racism Out Of Football campaign

Tamika Mkandawire, the Shrewsbury Town captain, was a popular guest to Shrewsbury's Harlescott Junior School as part of the Kick Racism Out Of Football campaign.

The Shrewsbury Town central defender was impressed with how the school raised awareness of the issue and also took part in a question and answer session with pupils.

"It's great for the youngsters to learn about different races and religions," said Tamika. "I enjoyed going there and the kids were great with the questions they came up with."

Martin James, head of community development at Shrewsbury Town, added: "The Kick Racism Out of Football campaign is running throughout the season.

"We focused on this agenda at the recent Gillingham home game.

"Tamika spoke to the Harlescott Junior School pupils about equality and diversity, and answered general questions about his life as a footballer."
