Jermaine Grandison signs contract extension

Jermaine and club take up option on contract

Jermaine Grandison has signed an extension to his Shrewsbury Town contract which will keep him at the Greenhous Meadow for at least another year.

The defender rejoined the club midway through last season and ended the campaign by producing an impressive display at the heart of the back four in Saturday's final day 1-1 draw at Gillingham.

Grandison initially signed for Shrewsbury from Coventry City in January 2011 and was part of the squad which gained promotion from League Two the following year.

"I'm just looking forward to next season now and getting back to how I was playing before my injury," said Grandison.

"I missed pre-season last year so this year I'm really looking forward to it, getting my fitness levels up and getting game time as well.

"It wasn't the best of seasons for us but now we've got to look forward and hopefully get promotion back to League One."
