Young reserve side head to Vale

15 April 2014

Reserves travel to Port Vale this afternoon

A youthful Shrewsbury Town reserve team head to Port Vale in the Final Third Development League this afternoon.

The match will kick off at 2pm at Vale's Hamil Road training ground.

It will be another chance to impress for the likes of Kaiman Anderson and Josh Ginnelly, both among the goals for the reserves in last week's 5-3 win over Wrexham.

Manager Mike Jackson feels it's more beneficial at this stage of the season for the first team squad members to concentrate on training so the emphasis is on youth.

Goalkeeper Callum Burton, who has played the last few reserve games, is away with the England under-18 squad ahead of their game with Germany at Rotherham United's New York Stadium.

Town reserves, from: Harry Lewis, Alex Ashton, Ryan Hickman, Dom Smith, Ben Burton, Jeff Watkins, Alex Fletcher, Niall Flint, Joe Kenton, Kaiman Anderson, Ethan Jones, Josh Ginnelly, Nathan Millis, Jack Butts.
