Open trials for youngsters from U8 to U12s
Shrewsbury Town invests vast sums of money in the Academy every season and a fundamental unit is its recruitment department.
Gary Wharton holds the post of 'Head of Academy Recruitment' and is responsible for the development and co-ordination of the academy scouting and recruiting network.
He also oversees the progression of Shrewsbury Town's endorsed recruitment and development centres in and around Shropshire.
Gary, who is represented across Shropshire, Staffordshire, Cheshire and Mid Wales by a team of dedicated scouts, has played a significant and successful part in highlighting Academy trialists aged between six and 16 over the past season.
The Academy are holding recruitment trials for young players aged eight, nine and 10 on Thursday evenings throughout May at the Greenhous Meadow and also Tuesday evenings for players aged 11 and 12.
