Defender looking ahead to first home league game after red card is overturned

Shrewsbury Town defender Arsistote Nsiala is looking forward to playing in front of the home fans for the first time when Town take on Bradford on Saturday.

Nsiala was sent off on his debut last weekend, but it was overturned by the FA on Tuesday and Aristote can’t wait to get back playing.

“I’m happy because I don’t think I’d have been able to play until February, so that would have been a long time with Chris Doig”, smiled Toto.

“I couldn’t believe it because I thought it was a great tackle. I’m not the kind of person to do a two footed tackle so I spoke to the gaffer about it and he supported me and decided to put the appeal in.

“So, if I’m selected, I’m just looking forward to playing on Saturday.”

Despite only playing 55 minutes of football for Town, Toto has already settled in well and is looking to get up to the pace of League One football.

“It was hard coming up against a team like Swindon because they like to pass it which you’re not always going to find”, said Nsiala.

“You’ve just got to learn quickly off Doigy and learn quickly off the lads at the back as well and try to make no mistakes at all because you get punished straight away.

“It’s been great with the lads, the gaffer and Doigy. It seems a friendly place and the lads have been very supportive and I’m happy.”

Nsiala has come up against Bradford before and is expecting a tough test, but one he will be ready for.

“I’ve played against Bradford before and they’re a good team and are a physical side”, continued the Democratic Republic of Congo international.

“They are a big club and it will be a big test, but the gaffer and Doigy believe in me and I just have to believe in myself if I am selected.

“Whenever there’s a big team I get up for it straight away and I will be looking to be up for it and looking to do well.

“I’ve been working on my passing and fitness with Doigy. We have always done extra work and I always want to better myself and try and push myself as much as I can.”
