Community to host trials on 20th April

Shrewsbury Town in the Community are hosting trials on 20th April at Shrewsbury College, for potential students on its BTEC course.

Working closely with Shrewsbury College, Shrewsbury Town in the Community run its BTEC Level Three Extended Diploma in Football and Education Programme, providing the opportunity to receive professional football coaching, gain coaching qualifications and represent Shrewsbury Town in the National Youth Development League.

The two year course includes a minimum of six hours per week completing practical sessions, modules such as sports performance, anatomy and physiology and psychology, and an FA Level One coaching qualification amongst others.

Those aged 16-18 can apply for the programme, providing they have gained 5 GCSE’s at grades C or above. You will also preferably have played football at county or representative standard.

The trial day will pit the hopeful trialists against a team from Burton Albion, and current first year students competing in the National Youth Development League.

They will take each other on in a series of games under the watchful eye of the STITC coaches, where everyone will be given a fair chance to impress.

Those attending trials will have to confirm their place to Jade Hibbert by no later than 10am on 19th April. You can reach her at jade.hibbert@shrewsburytown.co.uk
