Burton extends Bucks loan

Callum Burton to remain with Telford until the end of the season

Young Goalkeeper Callum Burton has extended his loan spell AFC Telford United until the end of the season.

Callum has been on loan with the Bucks for the last month, featuring five times and will now stay with them for their remaining eight games of the season.

Despite Telford struggling in the National League North, Burton has enjoyed his spell so far and was pleased to have extended the deal.

“I’ve loved it since I’ve been there”, Burton said.

“It’s probably the best dressing room I’ve been in for a loan spell so far. I’ve come in, the lads have been really welcoming and I think it’s shown with some of the performances on the pitch.

“It’s the first loan that I’ve been extended on, so that means a hell of a lot to me and it means that the management and the club have a lot of faith in me. That’s a big plus for me and hopefully I can push on and help the team.”

Callum has been impressed by the set up at Telford and believes that the relationship between the two clubs is a good one.

“It’s a club that I’ve always had an eye on because whenever I’ve been told that I can go on loan it’s a club that I’ve looked at”, said Callum.

“As soon as I heard that they wanted me I was very eager to get out there and go and play games because ultimately it’s close for our staff to come and watch and the two clubs have got a good link now, which is building.

“It’s great still having the training here, but obviously I train with them on Tuesday’s and Thursday’s as well, so it gives me the best of both worlds, because training with the team you are playing with is important because ultimately you want to know how they play and what the team ethos is about.”
