Callum out on loan to Nuneaton Town

Keeper Callum Burton has joined Vanarama National League North side Nuneaton Town on loan until the start of January.

Cal previously spent time with Boro during the 2014/15 season after he joined on an emergency loan over the festive period and played three games.

It will give Cal the chance to get some games under his belt with Jayson Leutwiler and Mark Halstead currently vying for the first team goalkeeper spot.

Town manager Micky Mellon is sure that the loan spell will help Callum continue his development.

“It will be a good chance for Callum to go to a good club and to get some games in a tough league”, said Micky.

“He needs to be playing games at the moment and I’m sure this will help him to continue his development.

“He is a very good young keeper and it is better that he gets games rather than sits on the bench here.

“We will be keeping an eye on how he progresses and I’m sure he will come back a better player after this experience.”
