Striker disappointed with the big decisions in the game
Town were unlucky to come away from the Banks's Stadium with no points after an incident packed local derby with Walsall.
The visitors were left once again to look back at some big decisions in the game that didn't go their way.
After the game striker George Waring spoke to the press and was asked if he was disappointed that Town were going home empty handed.
“There have been some game this season when we have looked back and said we could have done things better but I don't think today was one of those”. Said George.
“In the second half, and even in the first half, I felt we were comfortable and they didn't have many chances.
“But in the second half the decisions have gone against us, big decisions at big times in the game that have changed the outcome.
“We all feel that we should have come away from the game today with the 3 points but it's something we've got to stop saying and start doing to get those 3 points in the bag.”
There were a number of decisions that Town had been unhappy with over the 90 minutes but two stood out for George.
“Andy Mangan has scored a goal and when we've looked back at it he is clearly onside”, added George.
“The refs given the penalty for the challenge on me but the linesman has given it as offside and when we look back at that it wasn't.
“I was onside and you are looking at a penalty and a potential red card and us being 3-2 up and it is a game changing moment.
“Unfortunately in football when things aren't going your way decisions keep going against you but it's up to us come Tuesday to really make those moments count and get 3 points.”
Towns continued to pick up bookings and with Ryan McGivern picking up two yellows he was the fourth Town player to see red this season. Waring revealed it is something the players are aware of something that are looking to address.
“As a group we need to look at that and say we are not giving ourselves the best chance”, added the Stoke loanee.
“It is something that was mentioned in the dressing room and going forward everyone is conscious of this.
“I know it's simple but by keeping eleven men on the pitch it gives us the better chance of getting a result.”
Waring has made his first two league starts in a row in the last two games and he's been patiently biding his time for his chance.
“It was a frustrating period for me when I first came here as I was itching to get going”, said George.
“I feel there is more to come from me and I want to get some goals.
“I'm glad to be out there and I've been working hard on the training pitch to make sure that when the opportunity came I was ready for it.”
Waring was substituted late on in the game after he went down with cramp but he's not expecting there to be a problem for Tuesday's game with Sheffield United.
“I got cramp late on, I'd had a couple of issues in the first half where I didn't feel fantastic so that might have played a part in that.
“Second half late on I was just cramping up but then that's the first back to back 90 minutes I've played in a while so maybe it's to be expected.”
Town now welcome in form Sheffield United to the Greenhous Meadow on Tuesday night in the next Sky Bet League 1 game. It will be a tough test for Town but one that Waring revealed Town are looking to take maximum points.
“It should be a great and to take part in and I should be able to get myself right for that”, said Waring.
“We are just looking to pick up those 3 points and it's something we've just got to do.”
