Matt Bullin takes a look at our recent record against the Sky Blues

Shrewsbury hold a slender lead historically in the sides fixtures – having won 11 of the 31 match ups, to Coventry’s 10, while there have been 10 draws.

The most recent encounter between the sides came earlier this season came at the Ricoh Arena when the points were shared as the game ended 0-0.

The fixture was played out twice last season too, with both sides residing in League One. In the second match Town came out on top at the Greenhous Meadow – winning 2-1.

Aaron Martin gave the Sky Blues an early lead before Salop struck back through Sullay Kaikai and Shaun Whalley to take all three points.

Though earlier in that season it was Coventry who came out on top – winning 3-0 at the Ricoh Arena.

A brace from Adam Armstrong either side of half time and a penalty kick from Marc Antoine Fortune gave City a relatively easy win.

The sides also met twice in the 2014/14 season in League One – playing out a draw in both fixtures.

The second of the two fixtures was played at the Ricoh Arena and Town battled to a 0-0 draw.

In the first game of that season between the two the points were shared too – as the sides played out a 1-1 draw.

Callum Wilson netted City’s opener in the game, a man who has since gone onto represent Bournemouth in the Premier League. While Tom Bradshaw equalised for Town shortly after half time.
