Loan Update

13 March 2017

Take a look at how our players are getting on away from the club

It proved a difficult weekend for Town’s loan players as Kaiman Anderson was the only one to come out on the winning side.

Anderson came on as a 17th minute substitute for Oxford City and helped them claim a late 1-0 win over Whitehawk. The game looked as if it would end goalless, but Jefferson Louis scored in the 90th minute to give Oxford the win.

Callum Burton was kept busy in the AFC Telford United goal as they lost 2-1 to high flying Chorley. Burton had already made a couple of good saves before Chorley took the lead on 28 minutes. Telford equalised before the break through Josh Wilson, but Chorley scored their second of the game early in the second half and it turned out to be the winner.

Jim O’Brien’s Ross County side now sit just four points off the bottom of the Scottish Premiership table after a 2-1 defeat to Kilmarnock on Saturday. Kilmarnock took the lead through Conor Sammon, only for Liam Boyce to equalise for the Staggies, but after O’Brien came on in the 80th minute, Killie scored the winner with five minutes to go through Kris Boyd.

Ethan Jones was unable to add to his Stourbridge goal tally as they drew 0-0 with Mickleover Sports. Jones put in an industrious performance, but couldn’t finish a couple of half chances as a bobbly pitch made striking difficult.

Finally, Callum Grogan’s Skelmersdale United side continue to struggle. They were beaten 5-0 by Barwell on Saturday, a result which leaves them rooted to the foot of the Evo Stick Northern Premier League. Grogan was certainly kept busy, but it is all good for his development.
