The Gaffer looks back on the game with Oldham

Micky Mellon was delighted get the win after Town battled hard for a three-two victory over Oldham.
It was Town's first away win of the season and despite not being the prettiest of games, the manager was pleased to finally get over the line.
“We've all been in football a while and you know that after coming into games when you've been two-nil up and lost 3-2 there's no doubt that you’re going to carry a bit of anxiety from that,” said Micky.
“There's not been one of those players that, that result hasn’t gone through their heads, it's just human nature. So, really at that stage it just about getting over the line and getting a result and move on.
“I could stand here all day and say what I'd like to have done better, what we could have done better, but really it was just about getting the result and defending a lead, and we've shown all those qualities you need.
“We spoke at half time and we believed we weren't even near where we had been before. I believe we've played much better and lost to be honest, but in these kinds of conditions, with the results that we've had and the manner we've lost with last minute goals, it's just about getting over the line.”

There were seven added minutes to an action packed second half which saw three goals and the home side go down to ten men. Micky admitted it wasn't the most enjoyable atmosphere but he was proud of his players.
“We're delighted to go three one up and then Oldham, as you might expect in this part of the country, with the crowd getting behind them, fling everything at you and you've just got to defend hard and well, and fight for every ball.
"Ad the seven minutes go up and you've got to do that all again and fight hard for the result for the football club.
“I don't know if enjoy is the right word, but it's part of football and you get used to it and you know what you've got to do well in those circumstances and they did and they fought hard. Sometimes that, in a 46 game league season, are the types of performances you have to put in.
“Under the circumstances, coming into the game today with losing last minute goals and two-nil leads, that plays on people's minds and anybody who says different is kidding themselves, but we managed to exercise that ghost and battled on and got the club the result.”

Jack Grimmer and Sylvan Ebanks-Blake both made their debuts and Micky believes they will continue to get better.
“We all know what Sylvan is all about; he's going to get better with fitness,” said Micky
“He's not played a lot of football, but his game knowhow is going to be very important to us and it's going to be about trying to get him fit with playing games. Jack's just everything you want at Shrewsbury in a footballer; you know what you'll get from him.
“I'm pleased for them all, to be honest, because I know how much getting the result today meant to them.”
“We'll look back at the game and there's no doubt that there's things we would have liked to have done better, but I think at the end of the day the objective was to come away from here with three points, a positive result and keep moving this club forward.”

Micky was glad he could send the traveling support home happy.
“We know what it means to them to get results. I'll be the first one to say that we have to win games of football, I'm not going to hide away from that, you've got to win games of football.
“Performances are great and you can go on about them, but at the end of the day it's about what the scoreboard says at the end of the game. You've got to win and we're trying very hard to do that.
“We're not taking things lightly. We're not trying to make excuses or anything like that, we're working with a new group, but we know we have to win games, that's the bottom line.”
