Trials to be held for the Girls Regional Talent Club
Shrewsbury Town in the Community are hosting open trials for the second season of its Girls Regional Talent Club.In the summer of 2016 Shrewsbury Town in the Community successfully became a registered Regional Talent Club (RTC).
We are one of 32 centres in the country, and compete against the likes of West Brom, Birmingham and Aston Villa on a regular basis.
The aim is to offer more girls a route into professional football.
The chance to pull on the Shrewsbury Town shirt proved popular, with 150 girls coming on trial and 45 signing contracts with the RTC!
We currently have teams representing Town in the under 12’s, under 14’s and under 16’s age groups, who compete through the Junior Shropshire League and the FA England Talent Pathway.
Our ultimate goal at Shrewsbury Town in the Community is to produce players good enough to progress to represent Shrewsbury Town Ladies’ team.
After a successful inaugural season, we are looking to recruit for the 2017/2018 season and if you think you have what it takes then please sign up for our open trials, open to both goalkeepers and outfield players.
The trials are for all three age groups, and will take place on the following dates:
Under 12’s
Wednesday 7th June 2017, 6pm – 8pm (Shrewsbury College, SY2 6PR)
Wednesday 14th June 2017, 6pm – 8pm (Shrewsbury College, SY2 6PR)
Under 14’s
Tuesday 6th June 2017, 6pm – 8pm (Shrewsbury College, SY2 6PR)
Tuesday 13th June 2017, 6pm – 8pm (Shrewsbury College, SY2 6PR)
Under 16’s
Tuesday 6th June 2017, 7pm – 9pm (Shrewsbury College, SY2 6PR)
Tuesday 13th June 2017, 7pm – 9pm (Shrewsbury College, SY2 6PR)
Please bring appropriate training kit for football, including football boots, shin pads and a full water bottle.
To be eligible to attend players must be between the following ages:
• U12 – 1 Sept 2005 – 31 August 2007
• U14 – 1 Sept 2003 – 31 August 2005
• U16 – 1 Sept 2001 – 31 August 2003
