Christmas Carol Concert

24 November 2016

Shrewsbury Town head to The Abbey for the annual Carol Concert

Shrewsbury Town’s Annual Christmas Carol Concert is set to take place on Monday 19th December.

Come and join the Town players, staff and fans for a fantastic Christmas night out.

The event will take place at The Abbey with doors opening at 6:15pm and the concert getting underway at 7pm.

Tickets are free and are available from the Shrewsbury Town Ticket Office now or on the door on the evening.

This year the concert will be celebrating the 200th anniversary of the popular Christmas carol Silent Night.

Club Chaplin Phil Cansdale is hopeful that fans will come along and have an enjoyable evening.

“This year we’re going to be thinking about ‘The Real Christmas number one’”, said Phil.

“We’ll be celebrating the really well known carol ‘Silent Night’, which is consistently voted number one in the Christmas carol charts.

“Whether it’s a hope that ‘all is calm’ at Christmas, or we are singing your hearts out like a choir of ‘heavenly hosts’, the words seem to really hit home.

“During the evening we’ll also be enjoying some beautiful music from ‘Of One Accord’, the excellent mixed voice choir based in Shrewsbury.

“We’ll also be singing some Christmas favourites, and hearing some Christmas readings from those associated with the club.

“It’s a chance also to celebrate the amazing work that the Shrewsbury Town in the Community do across Shropshire, and we’ll be taking a collection during the event supporting some of this year’s charities.

“I’d love as many people associated with the club to come along and join us on the evening.”
