New programme theme for this season

Shrewsbury Town Football Club are delighted to announce that this season's programme is aiming to highlight the work that the club does within the community.
The football club plays a huge role within the town, attending schools, local events and promoting disability sport, amongst other things.
So far this season we have had Manager Micky Mellon and Josh Hubbard, a young boy from Thailand who attended a soccer school this summer, as stars on the front cover.
Community Manager Jamie Edwards has played a major role in getting the idea up and running and is hoping the idea will prove a great success.
"The front cover of the programme is trying to involve the whole community, making sure that we highlight all of the projects that we run through the community department and the different areas of the community we support," said Edwards.
"We're looking for participants from every project that we run, from our walking football, to our disability groups, to our NCS projects, soccer school participants, all being involved as the star on the front cover. That will be followed up with a feature within the programme about why they're on the front cover.
"Hopefully, that will then lead into our campaign of 'One Town, One Club', where we can display everyone from Adam El-Abd, our first team captain, to a disabled player, a youth team player, all being involved in the same picture, showing that, yes there is a first team, but also the club do a lot more outside of Saturday afternoon at 3 O'Clock."
A wide variety of people will take part in the feature throughout the season and it is hoped that it will show off all the great work the football club does.
"We've got one of our cerebral palsy players to come in the next couple of months, who will be having an awareness day for an operation that is needed. He plays every Tuesday, loves playing football and loves representing Shrewsbury Town," Jamie told ShrewsWeb.
"We've got the ladies team and it needs showing that we have a ladies team. And we've got the youth team.
"The Academy here produces some great players, Ethan Jones has just come through and is a star the way he's started. So to highlight the good work of the academy and the youth team and the players that have gone through, that can be a case study within itself for the fans to be proud of.
"We should be proud of the team on a Saturday, but also the stuff that we do outside of what maybe the fans see if they only come and watch the first team. They can be really proud of some of the teams that are representing the community, and the town, and the football club,” Edwards added.
One Town, One Club is the motto which features on the front of the new Community Hub and Edwards believes it gets the right message across.
"There's only one Shrewsbury Town, there is only one club in the town and as a small community we've got to make sure that we are working together, we're working within the community, but also the community are supporting their local football club as well," said Jamie.
"It doesn't really stop here. Not just the community scheme, but the academy, the hospitality staff, everybody who works at the football club do so much away from a matchday that some people don't notice. So, to give people this opportunity, to be on the front of the programme, is absolutely fantastic for them."
