Town Striker talks about his spell with Halesowen Town and hopes for the future
Shrewsbury Town Striker Kaiman Anderson believes his loan spell at Halesowen Town is standing him in good stead as he eyes a return to Shrewsbury in January.The 19 year old has scored 12 goals already this season for the Evo-Stick Northern Premier League side.
Anderson, whose youth loan runs out in January, has been pleased with how things are going and hopes the experience will allow him to play a part in Paul Hurst’s future plans.
“It’s been going well,” Kaiman told ShrewsWeb.
“I’ve played near enough every game for them and helped them out with my goals, so it’s been a good experience for me.
“I think I’ve matured as a person and a player. I’m much calmer on the ball and it’s put me in good stead for the future because it’s men’s football at the end of the day and it’s got me used to the speed and strength of the game.”
Halesowen have enjoyed a difficult season to date, with Anderson’s goals making up more than half of the total team tally. But, Kaiman has enjoyed the experience and feels like he’s learnt from playing week in, week out.
“Youth team football is not as quick, not as strong and it felt like it didn’t really mean much,” admitted Kaiman.
“There’s not much money in non-league at my level, but people are doing it for the love of the game and everybody hates losing, so we try and win every game as much as we can.
“All the lads at Halesowen are top draw, and really welcoming and the manager is trying to improve me as much as he can for when I come back.”
Kaiman has been training with the squad during the week and he hopes that once January comes around he can be given a chance to shine at League One level.
“I hope to come back in January and have a talk with the gaffer to find out what’s going on with me,” said Anderson.
“If I’m not going to be involved here then I will hopefully get a loan at a higher club, but the plan is to get back here, start playing and see what happens.
“I’m just trying my best to impress as many people as possible to try and get into the team. I feel like I’m doing well in training as well so we will see what happens.
“I definitely think I could make it at League One level and with the types of goals I’m scoring I can’t really see why not.”
