Striker joins on loan

Shrewsbury Town are pleased to announce that Sylvan Ebanks-Blake will join the club on loan until January.
The 30 year old striker started his career with Manchester United before joining Plymouth Argyle.
In his two seasons with The Pilgrims he scored 21 goals in 66 games which prompted a move to Wolves.
He made 177 league appearances for Wolves scoring 61 goals including 10 Premier League goals.
After short spells with Ipswich and Preston North End, he joined Chesterfield last summer, scoring 10 goals in League One last campaign.
He spoke to ShrewsWeb just after completing his move:
“Delighted to get it over the line and looking forward to getting in and meeting the lads and going to training,” said Sylvan.
“I want to play football, the manager wants me to come in and that was important to me and it was an easy decision.”
“He wants me to come in, get me going again, score some goals and winning games and being part of a good group of players here that are sort of ready to kick on and do well this year.”
Ebanks-Blake has scored nearly a hundred Football League goals and he is hoping his goals and experience can help improve the team.
“I’d like to describe myself as a goalscorer, that’s what I’ve been known for over the years and that is what I want to continue to be known for,” said Ebanks-Blake
“But, most importantly I want to come in and work hard, work my way into the team and hopefully score some goals and win games.”
“I think I can pass on my experience, I’ve played a lot of games so hopefully I can pass on my experience. But, it’s just about working together as a collective and everyone fighting for a position and I think that bodes well for a team and for success.”
“The main thing for me is the team doing well and winning games. It’s not about me as an individual because no individual runs a team.”
“It’s about the collective doing well for each other and winning games and putting points on the board and if I can help do that then that’s even better.”
