Fraser Fyvie Signs On Loan

23 January 2014

Midfielder comes in on loan from Wigan Athletic

Shrewsbury Town have bolstered their squad ahead of Saturday's trip to Swindon by signing Scottish under-21 international midfielder Fraser Fyvie on an initial month's loan from Wigan Athletic.

Fyvie started his career at Aberdeen, his home town club, and scored twice in 58 appearances for the Dons before Roberto Martinez took him to Wigan on a three-year contract for an undisclosed fee in July 2012.

Fyvie, 20, figured for Wigan in their FA Cup run last season and was an unused sub for the final against Manchester City in May.

He had a spell on loan at Championship club Yeovil earlier this season an started Wigan's FA Cup third round replay win at MK Dons last Tuesday.

Fyvie, who has eight under-21 caps for Scotland, will be available for Saturday's trip to Swindon.
