New Town signing looking forward to the future

New signing Andy Mangan says he feels right at home after completing a move to Shrewsbury Town.

The 27-year-old, signed from Forest Green Rovers, put pen to paper on a one-year deal at the Greenhous Meadow on Thursday.

"It's amazing to be here because the Club's fantasic," said Mangan.

"I'm over the moon and really excited to get going.

"It feels like I'm at home, especially with the gaffer being here. It's great for me, I play best football under Micky (Mellon), so I'm really looking forward to it.

The striker played for Micky during his spell at Fleetwood Town and helped the club achieve promotion to League Two.

"Whether its League One, League Two or the Conference, I'm experienced at this level," said Mangan.

"Micky's rebuilt after last season and brought in some fantastic players."

Mangan joins as one of a number of new signings for Town this summer and says the players have made his arrival easy for him.

"For the week I've been in training, the lads have been going at it a lot," he said.

"They've made me feel really welcome and they're a great bunch of boys.

"At the moment its about getting to know each other as individuals and as a unit.

The former Blackpool, Accrington Stanley and Bury man believes he can now offer Town different options in attack.

"I dont just play up front," said Mangan.

"I've adapted my game now. I can play off the striker and wide, so I can play all across the front really.

"The competition at the Club is fantastic, it's only healthy for us."
