New man in to develop and improve ticketing

Shrewsbury Town have appointed a new man to run the club's ticket office with Greg Douglas excited to have joined the staff at the Greenhous Meadow.

Greg, 23, previously worked at Championship club Blackpool but is looking forward to his new role at Shrewsbury.

He said: "I was at Blackpool for eight years, working in the ticket office, and have done everything I could achieve there really.

"It's the same job here but a bit more responsibility."

Greg already knows Town chief executive Matt Williams from their time working together at Bloomfield Road.

He's also familiar with assistant manager Mike Jackson plus two of Micky Mellon's summer signings, Mark Halstead and James Caton, from his time at Blackpool.

Greg is now looking forward to familiarising himself with the Greenhous Meadow ticket office system and also meeting Town fans when they come to the club to buy their season tickets.

He said: "It's just getting my head around the system here and trying to get the season ticket numbers back up to what they were last season really.

"We also have the pre-season friendlies coming up and the Capital One Cup game against Blackpool and you can sense the buzz around the place."
