Grant Feeling Confident And Fitter Again

24 October 2014

Winger looking to keep the games coming

Winger Bobby Grant was in excellent form on Tuesday night against Bury and he is looking forward to going again on Saturday against Portsmouth as his fitness improves with each game.

Town take on Pompey in Sky Bet League 2 at the weekend (3pm kick-off) looking to earn another important three points at the Greenhous Meadow.

And Grant is looking to keep the games coming as he continues to try improve his fitness.

"My fitness is getting better and the two 60 minutes I've had have helped me massively," said Grant.

"I'm only getting fitter the more I play. The manager knows that and the lads know that.

"The more game time and more training sessions I have, it's down to my work rate in training, but my fitness will keep getting better."

Confidence is something that Grant believes is key as a player and believes that he is getting back to fully believing in himself after joining on loan from Blackpool.

"Confidence to a player is massive," said Grant.

"I've come to Shrewsbury and found my confidence again. That's down to the secretaries, the chief executives and the manager, and when I'm enjoying my football, I can play well at this level."

He joined on a month's loan from Blackpool on October 9 and thinks that it's a new beginning for himself.

"It feels like a new beginning for me personally, that's the reason I came here," said Grant.

"I came down to start enjoying my football again. I spoke to a few people who I know really well and they sang praises about the club and since I've been here I totally agree with what they said.

"I think the club is far too good for this level and I think the squad we've got here and the confidence we're playing with, we should be playing higher than what we are."
