Tom Bradshaw facing lengthy lay off

25 February 2014

Bradders likely to be missing for 8-10 weeks with knee injury

Tom Bradshaw has been ruled out for between eight to ten weeks after the results of the scan on the knee injury he suffered in training last week became clear.

It means the Wales under-21 international faces a race against time to play any further part in Shrewsbury Town's quest to pull clear of the lower reaches of the League One table this season.

Manager Mike Jackson said: "It's going to be eight to ten weeks so it's disappointing. He's going to do well to get back to where we need him to be. It's disappointing for Tom and for us."

The injuries to midfield duo Luke Summerfield and Aaron Wildig continue to cause concern with the boss hopeful there will be some progress with them soon.

"It's still grumbling on," he said: "We're looking at ways to try and speed that up if we can but they'll be fit when they're fit."

Having seen another midfielder, on loan Fraser Fyvie, return to Wigan Athletic through injury, the manager is contemplating whether to bolster his squad again.

He added: "If the two midfielder players aren't going to be available for a while, I think we're going to have to look in those areas."
