Reserves: Town 0-3 Port Vale

30 September 2014

Development side beaten at the Greenhous Meadow

Shrewsbury Town’s Reserves suffered defeat to Port Vale in the Final Third Development League's Northern Cup.

Vale took the lead after 12 minutes when Ben Williamson found space inside the box and blasted the ball into the top right corner of the net, leaving Town goalkeeper Callum Burton with no chance.

The visitors then doubled their lead when Colin Daniel’s cross from the left flicked off the head of defender Ryan Hickman and past a helpless Burton with 25 gone.

Vale also added a third before the break as Daniel side-footed the ball beyond Burton from close range, and the margin remained at three as Town’s players got a much-needed run out.
