Jacobson out for three weeks

Hamstring set to keep Joe out of action

Joe Jacobson is expected to be ruled out for the next three weeks after suffering a hamstring injury just after opening the scoring against Sheffield United last Saturday with his long range thunderbolt.

"It looks as though it could be three weeks or so which is bad news," said manager Graham Turner. "It was right on the stroke of half time and he just pulled some fibres in his hamstring.

"I've got a couple of choices there. He's obviously an experienced player who's taken over the role of captain from time to time and he's a decent asset to have in the team.

"His headed goal from a corner a couple of weeks ago and then his strike on Saturday."

Ryan Woods, underlining his versatility, slotted in well at left back for the second half against Sheffield United while GT added Alex McQuade, the summer signing from Bolton, was also in his thoughts.

On Woods, the manager said: "The lad just enjoys playing and feels he can play anywhere. He can play either full back position, wide on the right, central midfield, he's got that natural ability and that natural appreciation of the game of football to go and play in any position.

"We might draw the line on putting him in as a central defender but anywhere else he will be comfortable."
