Poppy Shirts

8 November 2014

Town will be wearing the special Poppy Surridge shirts today

Town will be lining up against Walsall today in the FA Cup wearing the special Surridge poppy shirts.

The shirts were worn in the game at home to Portsmouth to launch the Royal British Legion’s ‘Live On’ poppy appeal and will be worn again in today’s game.

During this weekend’s Sky Bet fixtures, players will wear a poppy on their chest, and a plain black armband on their sleeve, as a mark of respect for those who have lost their lives serving their country.

After the game the shirts will be signed by the Town players who wore them and will then be auctioned off with the money going directly to The Royal British Legion’s Poppy Appeal.

Ahead of kick-off in today’s game there will be a minutes silence to remember all those who gave their lives for peace and freedom.
