Grant Signs On Loan

9 October 2014

Blackpool forward arrives for one month

Shrewsbury Town can confirm the signing of Blackpool forward Bobby Grant on a one-month loan.

The 24-year-old, from Litherland, Merseyside, has yet to feature for the Championship club this season.

He will be available for selection for Town's Sky Bet League 2 fixture at home to Cheltenham Town on Saturday.

“For myself, it’s about getting out there and playing,” said Grant.

“I spoke to Micky Mellon and everything sounded good.

“I’ve either played against or played with some of the players here, so it was part of the reason why I came here.

“I know a few of the lads as they are from where I’m from, so it’s a massive help.”

Grant has played at League Two level in the past for Accrington Stanley, Rochdale and, last season, Fleetwood Town.

“I can score goals at this level, I’ve proved that through my career,” said Grant.

“It was about coming down, enjoying my football and playing for a team in this league which, I think, should be right up there.

“I can’t wait to get started now.”

After completing the loan deal for Grant, manager Micky Mellon said: “I am delighted to have Bobby on board, it gives us another good attacking option.

“He’s got an eye for goal which he has shown over his career, and he knows where the net is.

“I look forward to working with Bobby over the next month and hope it will prove fruitful for both of us.”
