Football League consider re-organisation of domestic leagues

The Football League have released a discussion document which outlines their ‘Whole Game Solution’.
There several ideas in the discussion with one that would see the number of Football League’s increase to four with 20 teams in each league.
You can read the whole of the discussion points here > A Whole Game Solution
This is one of the points which will be under discussion at the Football League’s Summer Conference which takes place in early June.
Shrewsbury Town CEO Brain Caldwell is looking forward to hearing the proposals in full at the Summer Conference.
“We as a club must always consider change providing it is in the best interests of the football club and our fans”, said Brian.
“The main reason for the proposal would appear to be to reduce midweek matches which I am sure would be beneficial to many of our fans.
“Further information will be given to clubs from the Football League at its annual conference in June and no decision will be made by clubs on the way ahead until next year
“We look forward to hearing the proposals in full and will then be in a better position to give an opinion after that time.”
