Young Striker Signs First Professional Contract

Young Striker Kaiman Anderson has signed his contract offer from Town and put pen to paper on his first professional deal.

The Shrewsbury born youngster has progressed through the youth ranks at the club since joining the clubs U14s.  The 18 year old has continued to develop during the last two years in the youth team and has trained with the first team as well as making a number of appearances in the reserve side.

We spoke to Kaiman after the paperwork was complete to hit him with some kick fire questions:-

Kaiman, you have just signed your first professional contract you must be delighted?
I am really, really happy and just can’t wait to get started and hit the ground running when we come back for pre-season training.

For the Shrewsbury Town fans who haven’t seen much of you, what sort of player are you?
I am quick and I can hold the ball up well, I bring people into the game and I score goals as well.

Easy decision for you to make when the Gaffer offered you the contract?
Yes, it was very easy, I love the club and like I said I can’t wait to get going now.

Talk us through when you joined the club?
I came into Shrewsbury’s Under 14’s then moved up to the 15’s and I was offered my scholarship which I signed straight away, then it was two years in the youth team with some appearances in the reserves and now I have signed my professional contract which I am delighted about.

You had a good season last year as well?
I did ok, I scored 25 goals and played in the reserves as well and trained with the first team a couple of times which was good. Hopefully scoring goals will continue and come easy for me, but I know I have to work harder than ever before.

You played a lot in the reserves, what was the biggest difference to playing at level compared to the youth team?
It was much more physical and the game was a lot quicker but you have got to adapt and work hard and hopefully it will become easier.

The players are back on the 2nd July for pre-season training so I guess that’s when the hard work really starts?
I am really looking forward to it, I need to keep getting fitter and fitter over summer and make an impression on the Gaffer during pre-season.

Good luck to Kaiman as he embarks on what we hope will be a successful career with Shrewsbury Town.
