Goalscorer's thoughts after the Burton win

Andy Mangan was delighted to score the equaliser that set Shrewsbury on their way to defeating high flying Burton 2-1:
“That win will do wonders for our belief. I thought it was thoroughly deserved and we showed brilliant character today. It was nice to get the equaliser because it was an important goal and the lads were putting Burton under lots of pressure so it was great to get the goal to show for that. Celebrating with the away fans was great. I said to the lads late on that I could feel the win coming and the Burton players were tiring. Shaun Whalley did fantastically well to finish like he did, he executed it perfectly.”
“The result is brilliant at a top side like Burton but we went to Cardiff and won and then lost the next game so we need to make sure that doesn’t happen this time.”

The 29-year old is impressed with the new signings in the squad and thought they performed well today:
“We have a fantastic squad of men here. I have played with Richie Wellens since I was 15, he has had a much better career than me though! But it is nice to be playing alongside him again and he is a brilliant player. His experience and quality is a fantastic edition to the squad. I thought James Wallace and Jayson Leutwiler were excellent today too. Kyle Vassell chased everything down and his hold up play was brilliant so I am very pleased to have him as a strike partner.”

The former Fleetwood Town striker is hoping the side can give the fans something to shout about on Tuesday when Oldham visit the Greenhous Meadow:
“The win has passed now, we can enjoy it tonight but we need to focus quickly on the next game on Tuesday and try and get another positive result. I love playing so often and I love midweek games so we need to take it one game at a time and beat Oldham. Last year we had such a fantastic home record and the crowd were excellent last season so hopefully after this win the crowd will be behind us on Tuesday and we are hoping to pay them back.”
