Andy Robinson Leaves Town

Club confirms Robbo Has Left The Club

Shrewsbury Town Football Club can confirm Andy Robinson has left the club by mutual consent.

The 35-year-old midfielder joined the club following a successful trial in the summer but a number of injuries have restricted Andy to just three substitute appearances this season, the last being in the 2-0 win over Luton in August.

On the news Andy has left the club, manager Micky Mellon told the official website, "Andy is a popular lad in the dressing room but he has had a frustrating time with injuries since pre-season and has not played anywhere near as much football as both he and the club would have liked. I wish him well in whatever he decides to do in the future."

Andy Robinson echoed the manager's sentiments, "Shrewsbury Town is a great club with some great people and I hope they keep their form going and get promoted. Obviously I am disappointed not to have played more of a part in the club's success this season. I'd like to thank the Chairman, Manager, staff, players and supporters at the club for their support and assistance over the last six months, and after coming to an agreement to leave the club I will over the coming months fully consider my options for the future, whether that be continuing to play or moving into coaching."

Everyone at Shrewsbury Town, would like to thank Andy for his efforts and we wish him every success for the future.
