Gaffer Excited About Weso Return

16 March 2016

Micky looking forward to return of Wesolowski

The Town squad was given a boost this week with the news that James Wesolowski has been given the all clear to return to full training. Weso has been working hard to come back from an ACL injury and was given the good news from his specialist recently.

It now means the hard work can continue as Weso looks to work hard in training to get back to full match fitness.

Town manager Micky Mellon was excited about Weso's return to training and the possibility of having him back in contention for games soon:

“We are really pleased for James, he has been so patient getting back to fitness. He has been through a lot so it will be great to have him back in the team. He has been back in training for a few weeks. We all know the type of lad he is and he will be going at full steam now. He needs to get as many minutes as he can so he will be playing in a few reserve games to get back to speed. He needs to get match fitness and get used to being on a football pitch again.”

The 43-year-old paid tribute to the efforts of the medical staff who helped the midfielder to recover:

“Not many people have the drive and desire he has to come back from a serious injury twice. He has been itching to get back and I think the medical staff deserve credit to get him back so quickly.”

Then Scotsman believes the former Leicester player is already impressing in training:

“It will be like having a new player. He is definitely one of the best players in the group, he has so much quality and we are delighted to have him back. Already hi attitude is rubbing off on the lads in training.”
