Glorious setting to host Shrews Carol Service

10 December 2014

Micky and players attending Thursday's carol service

The picturesque Shrewsbury Abbey will be making its home debut as a host for the Annual Shrewsbury Town Carol service on Thursday 11 December at 7pm.

Reverend Phil Cansdale will lead the service with local schools and choirs leading the carols.

The service will be attended by a number of Shrewsbury Town players and staff as Manager Micky Mellon swaps his team talk for a Christmas reading alongside Club President Mal Starkey and a mystery Shrewsbury Town player.

There will be festive grub at the Carol Service thanks to Sainsbury's, who have kindly donated mince pies, which will be available on the evening.

Shrewsbury Town Chief Executive Matt Williams said: “The Abbey is the perfect venue for the club to host the annual carol concert this year.

“Having it during the week will hopefully give a lot of our fans the opportunity to come down and help us to get into the Christmas spirit.

“With Micky and a number of players being in attendance it promises to be a magical night and we hope everyone can join us.”

Tickets are available now from the ticket office at the Greenhous Meadow, they are free but due to limited availability everyone attending will need a ticket in advance.
