Striker happy with two goals and another cleansheet

Jean Louis Akpa Akpro was thrilled to score a brace against Exeter City and paid credit to Shrewsbury’s defence for the record clean sheets they have racked up this season:
“I am very pleased with the way we played today. It was great for me to get two goals and getting the clean sheet is always a nice bonus. We have the record for the most clean sheets in League 2 now and that is a great achievement for our defence who have been fantastic this season.”
“We had a very good game defensively and offensively. We played great football and were clinical in front of goal. We could of scored even more than the four we got! When you play as well as we did today it is very enjoyable. Credit to Exeter they tried to play football against us today which created lots of space for us to play our own football and produce the goals.”

The 30 year old Frenchman is in a confident mood about clinching the title with four games remaining:
“We have 6 wins on the bounce now and are scoring for fun, so hopefully we can keep this going until the end of the season. We need to win every game we can and then hopefully we can overtake Burton for the league title. A month ago we had a very bad run but we have shown character to come back and get back to winning ways.”

Shrewsbury will have a chance at being promoted if they win at Gigg Lane on Tuesday night, but the striker is fully focused on getting the victory and nothing else:
“Bury are my old team so it will be nice to go back. Every time I play against them I seem to have a good game so I am looking forward to it! It is possible for us to clinch promotion that game if results go the right way but we have to just focus on the game and get the win and see what happens. Even if we get promoted on Tuesday the season isn’t over because we want to win the title. All we are focused on now is the match against Bury.”
