Mangan To Undergo Operation

2 February 2015

Striker to be out for 4-6 weeks following knee procedure

Andy Mangan has seen the specialist to get the results of the scan on his knee and its good news.

The specialist has found a piece of bone in the knee and Mangy will undergo an operation this week to remove it and clean up the knee and cartilage.

It’s a routine procedure and if all goes to plan he should be back in training within three to four weeks.

Then results were good news for manager Micky Mellon who thought he may be missing the striker for a lot longer:”We got some good news that he’s not going to be out for as long as we first feared.

“He’s going to have an operation but the damage isn’t as bad as first thought and it should be about 3-4 weeks before he’s back in the group.

“We’d pretty much written him off but he saw the specialist saw him and there is a bit of floating bone that needs clearing up and once that’s done he should be ok.”
