Martin Woods returns to Scotland due to personal reasons
Shrewsbury Town can confirm they have agreed to terminate the professional contract of Martin Woods.
Woods who signed a two year deal with the club in the summer, asked the club to release him from his contract in order for him to return to Scotland to address some personal issues.
Woods will now return to previous side Ross County (subject to international clearance) on a new two year deal to play in the SPL.
The news comes as a disappointment for manager Micky Mellon but Martin’s decision is one he understands and couldn’t stand in the way of;”Unfortunately Martin has had to return to Scotland due to a personal reasons to do with his family.
“It is sad that he has had to return home but sometimes that is the way things go in life, never mind football.
“He came to see me last week and explained his reasons and there is no way the football club could stand in the way of his decision and wish him all the best in the new chapter of his career at Ross County.'
