Mat Sadler post Bradford City

Sadler's thoughts after the draw at Bradford

Mat Sadler was satisfied with a well-earned point at Valley Parade, the defender feels Shrewsbury did well to come away with a draw as Bradford will be a real force this campaign:

“We had a good battle with Bradford today. Their fans are hoping for big things from the club this season so I think a draw at their place is a good result. We want to win every game but looking back on It I don’t think we can be disappointed with the draw.”

“We had a game plan to settle the crowd down and then kick on and try and dominate the game. That didn’t quite happen and it turned out to be a real even affair. I think conceding before half time reinvigorated us because we were desperate to go back out in the second half and make sure we didn’t lose the game. I think Bradford with the size of the club and the money they spend will be aiming for a top six finish this year, a lot of teams will be beaten here so we will take the point.”

The 30 year old is enjoying the busy period of fixtures at present and is confident the team can get a win on Tuesday night at home to Chesterfield:
“We have a point on the board now so it is good to get going. We had a solid pre-season but that doesn’t quite prepare you for the battle of a new campaign. We’re playing for our livelihoods now and we all have families in the stands that we want to do proud so it is really intense. The squad is much fitter and sharper now than it was at the opening whistle of the Millwall game. Speaking for the defenders, we are all gelling together now and creating great partnerships. Hopefully we can all stay fit now and push on because we are really improving our play together.”

“I’m happy that the games are coming in thick and fast. Chesterfield on Tuesday night should be another good game for us and we are itching to get our first win in the league. I hope the fans come down and cheer us on because there isn’t a much better feeling than a win under the lights.”
