Micky Looking Forward To The Challenge

The SkyBet League 1 fixtures are now out and Town will welcome Millwall on the opening Saturday of the 2015/16 season.
Town boss Micky Mellon has had time to digest the fixtures and is looking forward to opening day test that ex Championship side Millwall will pose.
Away trips to Blackburn in the Capital One Cup and Bradford then follow before Town return to the Greenhous Meadow to take on Chesterfield on August 18.
“It’s exciting, we all love football and now we know what’s in front of us let’s get on it,” Mellon said.
“This is a fantastic league to be part of. It’s a very northern league with a lot of localish games so we have a lot of good rivalries to look forward to.
“Millwall will be a tough start, they are an experienced Championship team and they will be wanting to respond very quickly following their relegation.
“It’s a tough test but one we are looking forward to, it will give us an early indicator to where we are as a group.”
Town fans will welcome a home game on Boxing Day and it will be Micky’s old side Fleetwood Town who are the visitors to the Greenhous Meadow.
As always though Micky is relaxed about who Town will line-up against and he will be taking each game one by one, half by half.
“I’m just taking them one by one,” he said.
“You always look at the first game, the last game, the games around Christmas and I always look at the game around my birthday out of habit.
“But once the season starts it’s all about the first one, they come thick and fast over the first couple of months.”
