Greenhous Meadow nominated for best playing surface
The Greenhous Meadow pitch has been nominated as one of the best playing surfaces in the Sky Bet League 1.The nomination comes from the respected Sports Turf Research Institute and is deserved recognition of the improvement in the playing surface since the club entered into an agreement with Maxwell Amenity Limited.
Over the summer the work began to renovate the pitch and since then the hard work has continued to make it one of the best pitches around. Visiting clubs and media have all commented on the quality of the pitch over the season and it continues to draw praise each home game.
Marks are submitted by referees and visiting managers through the season to the Football League and FA Premier League, STRI then take these marks to draw up their shortlist and will be judging an overall winner in the coming weeks.
Dave Saltman, managing director of Maxwell Amenity Limited, is proud of the hard work that his team has put in and the recognition by STRI.
“To turn the pitch around in the first season under our management and to then receive a nomination for pitch of the year is a great achievement and testament to the hard work and dedication of Richard, Sam and myself”, said Dave.
