FULL-TIME: Shrewsbury Town 1-3 Blackpool

Wilson stepped up to smashed the spot-kick down the middle of the goal for his hat-trick and give Blackpool all three points on the day.

Blackpool were then awarded a second penalty with six minutes to go for a foul just inside the box following a corner.

The right full-back curled his free-kick from just over 20 yards out, in slightly left of centre position, perfectly over the wall and into the top left corner with 74 minutes on the clock.

There was little to separate the two teams on the day, and it took a stunning free-kick from Wilson to put Blackpool in front for the first time.

At the other end, with 20 minutes left, Ralph Chea stepped inside from the right for Blackpool and blasted just past the top right corner.

And within three minutes of coming on as a substitute for Higgs, John McAtee had the ball in the net with a neat finish from Agbozo's through ball, but he was ruled just offside.

Four minutes after the restart, Agbozo found space to shoot for Shrewsbury on the edge of the Pool penalty area but his effort was straight at Turner.

HALF-TIME: Shrewsbury Town 1-1 Blackpool

Blackpool had one more effort before half-time but Roache shot well over from outside the box with space in front of him, and it remained all-square at the break.

Shrewsbury could have retaken the lead ten minutes before half-time when Agbozo fed Hassall on the left who then crossed and the ball fell for Higgs, but his shot was straight at Pool goalkeeper Jake Turner.

Wilson stepped up to the spot and stuttered before placing the resulting penalty into the bottom right corner to equalise for the visitors.

Blackpool were then awarded a penalty in the 23rd minute as Town defender Callum Grogan was adjudged to have fouled Wilson just inside the penalty area when jumping for a header.

The Seasiders looked to respond and, ten minutes after the goal, Kit Gregory pulled the ball back from the right for N'Guessan but he shot high over the bar from just outside the six yard box.

Town took the lead in the ninth minute, though, as George Hassall fed fellow strike partner Higgs clean through from the left and the latter sent a composed low finish into the bottom right corner of the net.

At the other end, Shrewsbury's first effort came with five minutes on the clock as Josh Agbozo headed over at the far post from Mathew Jones' corner on the right.

Blackpool created the game's first opening as Christian N'Guessan headed over from inside the box from Rowan Roache's free-kick out on the right touchline inside two minute.
FIRST HALF

Ryan Sears, Callum Roberts, George Hughes and John McAtee were all rested in place of Joel Bonner, Nathan Millis, Ryan Barnett and Charley Higgs.

Head of Academy coaching Ian Dawes made four changes to the side which drew 1-1 at Wigan Athletic a week before.

TEAM NEWS

Charley Higgs had given Town an early lead in the first half, but the young Shrews must now turn their attention to Tuesday's night's FA Youth Cup - First Round Prope tie at home to AFC Telford United.

A hat-trick from the Seasiders' captain MacCauley Wilson was enough to give the visitors all three points in the Football League Youth Alliance - North West league clash at Shrewsbury Sports Village.

Shrewsbury Town's youth team slipped to their first defeat in eight games at the hands of Blackpool on Saturday.
