SHREWSBURY TOWN LINE-UP

Blackpool pushed for an equaliser late on, even with five minutes of added time, but Town were able to hold on for the win.

At the other end, James Doyle struck straight at Charlie Bannister when the ball was headed down to him from a free-kick.

Chances were few and far between. McAtee looked to catch Pool 'keeper Myles Boney off his goal-line but the effort drifted over.

Blackpool got the second period underway and it was another battle similar to the first half. HALF-TIME: Blackpool 0-1 Shrewsbury Town

However, Town took the lead three minutes before half-time when Chris Gallagher whipped in a corner at mid-height from the left, it went right through to the far post and Roberts had simple header from two yards.

King had another chance in the 19th minute as he was picked out in space on the left and shot over at the top left corner.

Two minutes later, King saw a close range shot beat the Blackpool goalkeeper but it was cleared by a defender.

Town got the game underway at AFC Blackpool and in the fifth minute Barnett picked out John McAtee in space on the edge of the Seasiders' box and the latter shot low at the goalkeeper.
FIRST HALF

Callum Grogan, Joel Carta, Joe Kenton and Mathew Jones missed out, with Joel Bonner, Ryan Barnett, George Hassall and Tom King all coming into the side.
