New Scholars Introduced At Bradford Game

2016/17 First-Year Scholars Introduced


(Striker): Tyrone joined Shrewsbury Town in February 2016 from Aston Villa where he had been since the age of 9. Tyrone Ofori

(Striker): Charley has been at the club since the age of 13 and was offered his scholarship when he was in the U15’s. Charley is a striker who lives in Telford and attends Burton Borough School in Newport. Charley Higgs

(Wide player): Aaron, a right-footed wide player, joined Shrewsbury Town in February 2016 from West Bromwich Albion where he had been since the age of 9. Aaron Gilpin

(Midfielder): Ryan, a central midfielder, has been at the club since the age of 8 and was offered his scholarship in October 2015. Ryan Barnett

(Midfielder): Harri joined Shrewsbury Town as an Under-15 from Chester City. He is a central midfielder who has represented the Welsh Schoolboys this year and signed his scholarship with the Club in March 2016. Harri Lovett

(Defender): Cameron joined Shrewsbury Town in March 2016. He is a defender who has played for Manchester City and most recently Birmingham City. Cameron Esien

(Goalkeeper): Cameron joined Shrewsbury Town as an Under-15 and was offered his scholarship in the same year. He has had spells at Birmingham City and Wolves. Cameron Gregory

Details on the new scholars (pictured above) are below:

Most of the scholars have already experienced playing for the Club's youth team this season and are likely to be involved in the Football League Youth Alliance Cup final on Wednesday night.

The intake of seven scholars for the 2016/17 and 17/18 season were pitchside at half-time for the Bradford City clash.

Shrewsbury Town supporters at Saturday's game were introduced to the Club's young players who will begin their two-year scholarship next season.
