SHREWSBURY TOWN LINE-UP

Both teams went in search of the next goal but it was not to be for Town as Bradford picked up all three points.

But the visitors took the lead with 25 minutes left as Marshall hit a powerful shot into the bottom left corner from 20 yards out.

Bradford got the second period underway but Shrewsbury went close to taking the lead within a minute of the restart when Ethan Jones pulled the ball back from the left and Gallagher poked over at the near post. HALF-TIME: Shrewsbury Town 0-0 Bradford City

The best chance of the first period was for the visitors when Marshall whipped a free-kick from 20 yards out against the right post two minutes before the break.

At the other end, substitute Rammell saw an effort from the edge of the box fly just wide of the right post.

Bradford almost went close to taking the lead when Greg Leigh shot low and wide of the left post from 20 yards.

After getting a good 30 minutes under his belt, Wesolowski was replaced by Jacob Rammell.

At the other end, with 27 minutes on the clock, Bradford's Mark Marshall fired in a free-kick from 20 yards out and Callum Burton punched the effort away well.

Demetriou also rose well in the box to meet Chris Gallagher's corner from the left five minutes later but his low header was just wide of the right post.

The first chance arrived in the 18th minute when Callum Grogan lifted a clever ball from the right through for the run of Ethan Jones who got in behind the Bradford defence and lobbed his effort just over the target.

Town got the game underway at Shrewsbury Sports Village and it was a fairly even start. FIRST HALF

The Town starting line-up included professionals Callum Burton, Mickey Demetriou, Wesolowski and Ethan Jones, with the rest of the team being youth team players.

Bradford's Mark Marshall bagged the only goal of the game in 20 minutes into the second half - but Town's coaching team will have been pleased to see Wesolowski, who has been out long-term with an ACL injury, back in match action for the first time since September 2015.

James Wesolowski got 30 minutes under his belt in Shrewsbury Town's narrow defeat to Bradford City in the Final Third Development League - West Division on Tuesday afternoon.
