However despite both teams trying to get the winning goal, the game ended in a stalemate, meaning both teams had to settle for a point.
The second half was a far more open affair with both sides creating more chances than the first half, and Town saw a couple of decent chances go to waste with Kyle Vassell testing the away stopper on a couple of occasions and Elliot Grandin going close with a curling shot which flew just past the post.

Shrewsbury could have retaken the lead again minutes later when Roberts jinked his was through a couple of the Burton defenders but was met by a brave challenge just as he was about to pull the trigger on the edge of the box.
The lead was only held for 12 minutes, however, as the Brewers equalised thanks to a perfectly-placed low shot into the bottom corner from the edge of the box by Dinanga.
In the opening 20 minutes, both teams were trying to grab the first goal with chances at both ends, but it was the home side that struck first in the 25th minute when defender Callum Roberts cut inside from the right wing and provided an excellent cross which was met by the head of new signing Grandin who nodded the ball past the Burton goalkeeper.
Elliot Grandin headed Town in front in the clash at Shrewsbury Sports Village but the visitors hit back before half-time through Marcus Dinanga.
