"Within these sessions we want the players to be comfortable about talking about mental health problems and take away the stigma that surrounds mental health problems as football can help to break this isolation and include people more in everyday life and their communities.

"Sport in general can help people recover, help to manage symptoms and can radically improve the quality of peoples day-to-day lives alongside providing stress relief and providing relaxation for people."
Aiden Wassell, health and inclusion officer for Shrewsbury Town Community Sports Trust, said:

Sessions will run every Tuesday from 1-2pm at a cost of £3 per player.

The FA have noted that ten per cent population have depression at any one time.

Why is mental health an issue for football? One in four people will experience a mental health problem in any year.

The Heads Up sessions will officially launch on Tuesday 5 May.
