4 March 2015

Youth Team Striker On SSC Success

“Josh does that all the time in training so it’s no surprise to see him do that today.”

And what about that wonder goal from Josh Ginnelly?

“Kaiman’s gone through, rounded the keeper and laid it back to me perfectly and I’ve had the whole goal to aim at and just slide it into the corner.

“We’re playing with confidence now so hopefully we can pick up a few more results and go far in the Midland Youth Cup.”

Jones also took huge pride in scoring in the cup final and was grateful to Kaiman Anderson’s part in his 35th minute strike.
“James helped us a lot,” added Jones. “He led the way and made it very easy for us out there on the pitch.”

Jones also heaped praise on the Shropshire FA’s man of the match James Caton, who captained the side during last night’s victory as well as scoring the opening goal.

“It means a lot especially to all the lads in the changing room who have come here and beaten a conference side.

“We dug in deep in what was a hard game on tricky pitch and in the end I think we deserved the win.

“The second half was more defensive but that’s what you’ve got to do in games like this.

“You need to dig in deep and we got the result in the end which I think we deserved.”
He said:

The attacking midfielder scored the second goal in his side’s victory at the New Bucks Head and was delighted to pick up his first piece of silverware with the academy side.

Youth team striker Ethan Jones says his fellow Shrewsbury Town team mates were worthy winners of the Shropshire Senior Cup, which Ian Dawes’ side claimed during last night’s 3-1 victory over rivals AFC Telford last night.
