Under-18s Drawn Away To Scunthorpe In First Round
Shrewsbury Town’s youth team have been drawn away to Scunthorpe United in the First Round of the Football League Youth Alliance Cup.
The tie is set to be played on 29 August 2015 with an 11am kick-off.
Ian Dawes’ team seemed to save some of their best form for the cup competitions last season as they defeated AFC Telford United to lift the Shropshire Senior Cup before falling at the last hurdle of the Midland Floodlit Youth Cup to Walsall.
They didn’t fare as well in the Alliance Cup however as they bowed out of the competition in the Third Round with a 2-1 defeat at home to eventual Alliance Cup winners Oldham Athletic.
Having received a bye for Round One, Town then beat Burton Albion 4-1 before going out to the Latics.
